We had three Oxbridge successes in 2019. We have one student going to Cambridge to study Natural Sciences at St John’s College. We also have two students going up to Oxford, one to read Classics and the other to read Human Sciences.
Several pupils gained straight A* and A grades and will be studying at highly prestigious institutions on very competitive courses, notably Medicine at Bristol and Queen Mary’s, History, Maths, Engineering, Politics and International Relations and English at Bristol, Astrophysics at St. Andrew’s, Theology at Edinburgh, Law at Nottingham and Manchester, and Economics at UCL, to name just a few.
Art students have also excelled this year. Not only did they all achieve excellent grades, but many of them have gained places on highly prestigious Art Foundation courses such as those at Kensington & Chelsea, Camberwell, Kingston and Epsom.
We are extremely proud of these successes, which are undoubtedly due to the hard work of the students, the expertise and dedication of the staff here and the strong academic Classical Liberal ethos that is at the heart of the school. Several of our students are the first in their family to go to university; a fact of which we are particularly proud. We also have students who are pursuing careers in Fashion, Midwifery and Nursing, as well as one who is going to train as a commercial pilot.
68% of our students will be attending a Russell Group or equivalent university and overall 92% of our students will go on to university in September 2019 – we wish them all the best in their future studies.
