Leadership Team

Ms D Thomix

Director of Sixth Form

It is such a privilege to engage with our students each day, to watch them grow and achieve success. I love the fact that I can make a difference to a student’s current happiness and future success. It’s the best job in the world.

Ms Thomix is responsible for the day to day academic delivery of teaching and learning and provides a critical point of contact for parents and students who wish to discuss issues and progress. Ms Thomix also teaches A Level Latin and Classical Civilisation.

Ms Thomix graduated from the University of St Andrews with an MA (hons) in Latin and Medieval History, during which time she spent one year on academic exchange at the University of Toronto specialising in Medieval Latin.

Mr V Tamizian

Deputy Head of Sixth Form (Academic) and Head of UCAS

The support we provide in helping prepare students for their university applications is second to none in my opinion. Every student gets the individual attention they deserve whether they want to go for a high-end apprenticeship or a top university.  If you are a member of our Scholars Programme you will be guided and supported to success in your Oxbridge, Medicine, and related specialist applications.

Mr Tamizian supports students through the Sixth Form application process, helping them make decisions about which A Levels are most appropriate for them, bearing in mind their longer term plans. He is also responsible for providing support and guidance on all aspects of academic study, including the critical choice on which university course or apprenticeship to apply for. Mr Tamizian also teaches A Level History.

Mr Tamizian graduated with an MA in history from Clare College, Cambridge, where he also completed his PGCE and a Masters in Education.

Ms D Murphy

Head of Year 13

As Head of Year 13, I have the important responsibility of looking after the pastoral welfare of all our Year 13 students. It is always enjoyable to get to know each student as a person.

Ms Murphy is a key point of contact for students and parents.

Ms Murphy is available to offer guidance and support to all Year 13 students and can assist each student access specialist counselling and coaching support as required. Ms Murphy also teaches A Level Economics.

Ms Murphy graduated from the University of Leicester with a BA in Economics and completed her PGCE course in Economics Education at Staffordshire University.

Mr O Bell

Head of Year 12

As Head of Year 12, I provide pastoral support to students. Year 12 is a potentially stressful time for both students and parents settling into new routines, and I provide an initial point of contact to access guidance and advice.

Mr Bell offers guidance and support to all Year 12 students and also teaches A Level Politics.

Mr Bell graduated with a BA in War Studies from King’s College London University in 2002. He was previously a History teacher and boarding house tutor at Hurstpierpoint College, West Sussex. Mr Bell teaches A Level Politics.

Mr Bell has been a professional hockey coach for the last fifteen years, most recently with Brighton and Hove HC in the East Conference, and is currently a centrally contracted coach with England Hockey. His playing career has included both junior international and national league honours.
