Ms D Thompson
Head of Sixth Form
It is such a privilege to engage with our students each day, to watch them grew and achieve success. I love the fact that I can make a difference to a student’s current happiness and future success. It’s the best job in the world.
Ms Thompson is responsible for the day to day academic delivery of teaching and learning and provides a critical point of contact for parents and students who wish to discuss issues and progress. Ms Thompson also teaches A Level Latin and Classical Civilisation.
Ms Thompson graduated from the University of St Andrews with an MA (hons) in Latin and Medieval History, during which she spent one year on academic exchange at the University of Toronto specialising in Medieval Latin.
Mr V Tamizian
Deputy Head of Sixth Form (Academic) and Head of UCAS
The support we provide in helping prepare students for their university applications is second to none in my opinion. Every student gets the individual attention they deserve whether you want to go for a high-end apprenticeship or a top university. If you are a member of our Scholars Programme you will be guided and supported to success in your Oxbridge, Medicine, and related specialist applications.
Mr Tamizian supports students through the Sixth Form application process, helping them make decisions about which A levels are most appropriate for them bearing in mind their longer term plans. He is also responsible for providing support and guidance on all aspects of academic study including the critical choice on which university course or apprenticeship to apply for. Mr Tamizian also teachers A Level History.
Mr Tamizian graduated with an MA in history from Clare College, Cambridge, where he also completed his PGCE and a Masters in Education.
Ms D Murphy
Head of Year 12
As Head of Year 12, I have the important responsibility of looking after the pastoral welfare of all our Year 12 students. It is always enjoyable to get to know each student as a person.
Ms Murphy is a key point of contact for students and parents during the transition from GCSE to A Level studies.
Ms Murphy is available to offer guidance and support to all Year 12 students and can assist each student access specialist counselling and coaching support as required. Ms Murphy also teaches A Level Economics.
Ms Murphy graduated from the University Of Leicester with a BA in Economics and completed her PGCE course in Economics Education at Staffordshire University.
Mr O Bell
Head of Year 13
As Head of Year 13, I provide pastoral support and help prepare students for both UCAS applications and their final examinations. Year 13 is a potentially stressful time for both students and parents and I provide an initial point of contact to access guidance and advice.
Mr Bell offer guidance and support to all Year 13 students and also teaches A Level Politics.
Mr Bell graduated with a BA in War Studies from King’s College London University in 2002. He was previously a History teacher and boarding house tutor at Hurstpierpoint College, West Sussex. Mr Bell teaches A level Government and Politics.
Mr Bell has been a professional hockey coach for the last fifteen years, most recently with Brighton and Hove HC in the East Conference, and is currently a centrally contracted coach with England Hockey. His playing career has included both junior international and national league honours.
Ms L Frederick
Sixth Form Registrar
As Sixth Form Registrar I support the Sixth Form team in all matters of administration, including admissions, attendance monitoring and communication.
As Sixth Form Registrar, Ms Frederick is the first point of contact for students and parents to assist with admissions. She also supports the Sixth Form team in other areas of administration, including attendance monitoring, social media and manages our very regular student and pupil communication efforts.
Ms Frederick studying Textile Engineering at Leeds University and has also lectured in Product Development at the London College of Fashion.
Ms V Duggan
As Senior Librarian I support the students in the library, as well as running the Sixth Form book club.
Ms Duggan manages the library and research services for the Sixth Form and helps supervise student study in the library.
Ms Duggan graduated from Royal Holloway College, University of London, with a BA Hons in English, Drama and Theatre Studies. She completed her PGCE from The Institute of Education.
